A Midsummer Night’s Dream Callbacks Thank you to everyone who auditioned.  As usual, you have made our jobs very difficult.   Please check the list below carefully for your name.  If you do not see your name below, you are still in the running for the show, so please be sure to check back here on Friday night or Saturday morning the latest. To all of those who have been called back:   Callbacks will be Friday, September 14th starting at 3:00 in the PAC. We hope to be finished between 5 and 6:00.  We will be using the sides posted on the blog. Please note that EVERYONE who is called back should be prepared to read for a Fairy-whether or not your name is listed for that role, so please read over that side. Midsummer Callback Sides

Hi Guys!  Here are the callback sides for Midsummer (posted before the callback list will be posted this evening-just in case you wanted to look ahead at the material for any characters that interest you!) Please check the sides below carefully-some characters will need to read multiple sides.  If you are called back for a role that is in parentheses for a scene, the side is for the other character listed previously, and you may not be asked to read (or the reading may be done by an audition reader for the sake of time).  Please let me know if you have any questions! Note that Quince, Snug, Starveling, Bottom, Flute, Snout are known in the play as "The Mechanicals" (the group of actors).  They all play themselves as actors as well as playing a role in the play within a play. A Midsummer Night's Dream First Audition Info

Hi Guys! I hope that you've been enjoying your summer :)  Here is your first info for our upcoming fall play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Auditions will be held September 12-13, 2018, with callbacks on Friday September 14th. You will need to prepare a brief Shakespearean monologue, either of your choosing or from one of the selections listed below.  You may also choose another selection from A Midsummer Night's Dream, or from any of Shakespeare's other plays.  It should be roughly 1 minute to 90 seconds in length.  Please avoid very long selections. Hopewell Valley Central High School Performing Arts Season 2018-2019 Our Fall Play this year is William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Set during the summer of love, 1969, this version of the classic tale features the music of the late 1960s along with the original text of the play.  Join Puck as he invokes you to “Dream a Little Dream of Me” as the story unfolds both in the modern world of the 60s and the bohemian forest life of the faeries.  Featuring a large and colorful cast of characters, including hapless lovers, jealous faeries, and a group of actors rehearsing a play for a royal wedding, this tale of love and loss unfolds over the course of two days, and will truly be a show to remember.
