Clue Auditions

Hi Guys!

I hope that you've been enjoying your summer :)  Here is your first info for our upcoming fall play, Clue.

Auditions will be held September 11-12, 2019, with callbacks on Friday September 13th.

You will need to prepare a brief monologue of your choosing in the style of the play (murder mystery, campy, comedic).  You may perform a monologue from Clue if you would like.  It should be roughly 1 minute to 90 seconds in length.  Please avoid very long selections.


In addition to preparing your audition material, you should also read the entire play by clicking the link below.  

**Please note that you MUST be logged in to your HVRSD account to view the script.  All requests from non HVRSD accounts will be declined.

Here are the roles in the play:

WADSWORTH
Male
A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.
YVETTE
Female
A sassy French Maid, with her own secret aspirations. (Also plays THE REPORTER in the final scene).
MISS SCARLET
Female
A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam who is interested in secrets.
MRS. PEACOCK
Female
The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.
MRS. WHITE
Female
A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.
COLONEL MUSTARD
Male
A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.
PROFESSOR PLUM
Male
An academic Casanova who woos women with his…good looks and brain.
MR. GREEN
Male
A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious.
ENSEMBLE Roles: (may be combined as needed)

THE COOK – A threatening presence.
THE MOTORIST – A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell.
AUXILIARY SCARLET – The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.
AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT – An FBI agent who helps to save the day.
MR. BODDY – A mobster type fella. A dark cloud follows this guy wherever he goes.
THE COP — A “Regular Joe.”
AUXILIARY MUSTARD – The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery.
AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
AN AGENT – An FBI agent who helps to save the day.

Congratulations to all who were cast!  
Every time that we cast a show, it is a difficult decision, but please know that this time around
was particularly tough.  We are so proud of how you all handled yourselves
during both the audition and callback process.


You must accept or decline your role via email to Ms. Rochon by Saturday evening at 6:00 pm.  
If there are any changes in casting after that point, you will be notified by Ms. Rochon
via email on Sunday, December 2nd.    

The first read-thru will be held on Monday, December 3rd at 3:00 pm in the dance studio.  
We should finish around 5:30. Please bring a 3 ring binder for your script, a pencil,
and a highlighter.

If you would like to meet with the casting panel for feedback on our casting decisions,
please sign up for a time on Ms. Rochon/O’Hara’s office door.
